The Col·lectiu Català de Treballadors del Joc has demanded that the authorities follow the example of the Basque Government and allow the reopening of casinos, bingos and gaming halls with restrictions.
In this regard, the spokesperson for the group, Victor Duce, has emphasized that "it is the only sector that does not appear in any of the four phases of de-escalation thought by the government", so it is the only daytime activity that is maintained closed and without an opening date.
On the other hand, he reiterated that the fact that other communities allow the reopening shows that "it is not a sanitary measure against Covid-19, but a discriminatory action against the sector." Along these lines, he explained that it is the only sector capable of guaranteeing immediate action and user traceability thanks to the access control installed in all the premises.
It should be noted that the Catalan gaming industry contributes more than 225 million euros in taxes, in addition to generating 8,000 direct jobs and more than 28,000 indirect jobs.
