The American Gaming Association (AGA) has published an interactive map that provides information on the most important details of the growing sports betting market for each state in the country. More specifically, AGA has included a map on its website that is updated based on the types of wagering allowed, key regulatory details, legal retail sportsbooks and online / mobile, among other aspects.
On the map we can locate the following classification:
- "Live, legal" - States where single game sports betting is legally offered to consumers through retail and / or online sportsbooks
- "Legal - not yet operational": they have authorized sports betting, but not yet launched
- “Active or pre-filed legislation”: jurisdictions where bills to legalize single-game sports betting have been previously filed in the state legislature or where a voter referendum is scheduled.
It should be noted that the data used to update the interactive map is obtained from state regulatory agencies.
