MERKUR Slots, a brand of the Gauselmann Group in the UK, has announced its support of the National Trust's Woodland Appeal, to fund the planting of 1,500 trees while spreading awareness of the Trust's work among staff, clients and the broader stakeholder community.
MERKUR Slots has reported through a press release that, within the framework of World Environment Day, it has established a new ground-breaking link-up with the National Trust.
World Environment Day, celebrated each year on June 5th, has been the ideal date to announce such a significant agreement to help tackle the pressing problem of climate change.
Mady Henderson of the National Trust emphasizes that "Trees breathe life into our world, and it's vital we plan for the future of woodlands to tackle climate change." In this regard, she explained that Merkur's support “will enable the planting of 1,500 trees: trees which will provide sanctuary for wildlife, clean our air and bring balance to fragile landscapes”.
On the other hand, Sascha Blodau, general manager, responsible for the MERKUR brand in the United Kingdom, highlights the great social responsibility of the company and says: support the environment and do what they can to tackle climate change”.
He also commented that beyond the financial contribution it is relevant to participate in the dissemination of the work carried out by the National Trust to its staff, families, and clients of its premises. In this regard, he said: "the business has a unique opportunity to reach out to stakeholders and provide them with the links and information they might need if they feel they want to be a part of our relationship with the National Trust".
