We must mention that these comments by the prime minister were in response to a counselor who mentioned reports from the National Center for Consumer Affairs in Japan revealing an increase in online casinos, which went from approximately 100 in 2014 to almost 500 in 2020, with approximately 2 million users.

In other words, Fumio Kishida has reminded citizens that online gaming is a crime in the country and illegal operators will be kicked out.

“I understand there are cases in which arrests and criminal charges have been made related to online casinos. We cannot allow illegal organizations to expand,” he added.
