Entain Publishes 2023-24 ESG Report

In 2023, Entain unveiled a new Sustainability Strategy, building on the progress made against its strategic sustainability initiatives. A copy of the report can be found here.

Highlights and targets covered in the ESG report include:

Be a Leader in Player Protection

1. Rolled out Entain’s player protection programme, ARC™, for its digital offering across 27 jurisdictions and launched ARC™ for retail in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
2. Contributed 1% of its Gross Gaming Yield (GGY) in the UK to Research, Education and Treatment (RET), totaling £18.7m.
3. Continued stakeholder education and training in the US through its partnership with EPIC Global Solutions, major leagues, and players associations, including Major League Baseball, National Football League, League Soccer Players Associations, and the NHL Alumni Association.

Provide a Secure and Trusted Platform

1. As of February 2023, 100% of Group revenues are derived from regulated or regulating markets.
2. Launched a new Ethics & Compliance Charter and Strategy.
3. Revised its ESG governance structure with two board-level committees (Sustainability & Compliance and People & Governance).

Create the Environment for Everyone to Do Their Best Work

1. Launched "Your Goals," Entain’s new objective-setting programme for colleagues.
2. Refreshed its values and related behaviours.
3. Won Innovator of the Year at the Women in Gaming Diversity Awards for its Returnship programme with McLaren Racing.

Positively Impact Our Communities

1. Long-term target to be net zero by 2035.
2. Ambition to reduce Scope 1, 2, and material Scope 3 emissions by 90% by 2035 (from the 2020 base year).
3. Near-term targets:
4. Ambition to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 (market-based) emissions by 29.4% by 2027 (from the 2020 base year).
5. Ambition to reduce material Scope 3 emissions by 29.4% by 2027 (from the 2020 base year).
6. Continued to purchase nearly 100% of its electricity in the UK and Republic of Ireland from renewable sources.
7. Currently reviewing its emissions reduction targets and expects to conclude this review and announce any resulting changes in due course.

Entain’s performance has been recognized by multiple awards and endorsements from respected, independent third parties. The Group has been awarded the highest level of accreditation (Advanced Level 3) for its online activities and Advanced Level 2 for its land-based activities from GamCare’s Safer Gambling Standard. Entain was one of only six UK-listed companies to achieve Tier 1 in the 2024 CCLA Corporate Mental Health Benchmark UK 100.
