Google has also stated that any further changes to the Gambling and Betting policy occurring before April 14 will be included in the final update if they come into effect on or before that date. Additionally, the company ensures that changes will be notified according to its standard processes, thus guaranteeing transparency and clarity in the application of its policies.
Details of the Updated Policy:
Gambling and Betting in Physical Establishments: Promotion of gambling and betting in physical locations will not be permitted. This type of content will be marked with a red "X," indicating its prohibition.
Online Gambling and Betting: Permitted with restrictions. Google will allow the advertisement of online gambling and betting, including casino games, lotteries, bingo, and sports betting, provided they are operated by state-controlled entities or those with state licenses. Advertisers interested in promoting these services must obtain Google certification, ensuring compliance with all stipulated requirements and regulations.
Online Games, Except Casino: The advertising of online games where payment or betting with money or other items of value is made to obtain a greater amount of money or value will continue to be prohibited. This category will also be marked with a red "X."
All advertisers wishing to promote content allowed under the new policy must apply for and obtain the necessary certification from Google. The Google Ads Gambling and Betting policy page will provide more information and details on how advertisers can apply for this certification.
