Several Latin American countries compete with European regulated markets to have legislation adapted to the needs of operators, state and customers. In this context, Coljuegos has published on its website an important agreement in which article 51-2 of the Online Gambling Law in Colombia is added to the possibility that operators can market other authorized games of luck and chance.
The Colombian online gaming market will allow through its regulator
Coljuegos that authorized operators will be able to market new games of luck and chance that will become permitted by Coljuegos and subject to new regulations for prompt publication. This is contemplated in agreement 2 of 2020, which indicates that “authorized operators may market other novel games of luck and chance authorized by Coljuegos from the Operator's technological platform, which will be considered a new sales channel.
The requirements to market other games on the platforms are similar to those required for already regulated games such as poker or sports betting, although due to the nature of these new games, modifications will be allowed in the new regulations that are published and the use of "tickets" and other formats that are authorized in the corresponding certification.
