Novomatic has won historic litigation in Italy, after a court recently determined that the game "The Books of Pa" is a copy or counterfeit of "Book of Ra", the successful game by the Austrian company.
According to the court decision, "The Books of Pa" replicated the symbols, settings, animated sequences, key characters and sounds of "Book of Ra". Consequently, Highlight of the Game and Lunamatic of the Dalla Pria Entertainment Group, companies that developed the game, face serious penalties and will have to remove all related advertising materials.
On the other hand, Novomatic obtains the protection of new slot games, which are recognized as intellectual multimedia products protected by copyright, which must also comply with the requirements related to gaming laws.
