The iconic Sega Akihabara Building 2, characterized by its escalators seen from the outside and its impressive collection of video game machines, has announced its final closure on August 30.
There is no official information, but everything seems to indicate that this emblematic gaming room will close its doors, after 17 years of operation, due to the impact of the COVID-19. However, other sources indicate that it was a process that would happen sooner or later, since fewer and fewer players visited the establishment and preferred to stay home with the great technological advances in video games.
Notice of closure
Thank you for your continued patronage. We are sorry to announce that this branch, Sega Akihabara Building 2, will be closing.
Our last day of operations will be Sunday, August 30.
The entire staff wishes to express, from the bottom of our hearts, our sincere gratitude at the loving support you have given our establishment for so many years.”
