The American Gaming Association (AGA) recently published a video with an interesting interview with Trevor Croker, CEO of Aristocrat's Technologies, who analyzed the current situation, as well as the position and leadership of the company in such an adverse scenario.

We must emphasize that this is a very close conversation between Bill Miller, executive director of the American Gaming Association, and the director of Aristocrat in the framework of his section entitled Cards on the Table.

First, Trevor Croker referred to the great challenge of having to go from working in offices to working online in a few days, for an organization of 6,000 employees and with 60 years of history.

In this regard, he explained that it has involved a series of decisions and prioritization around the health, safety and well-being of both its employees and its customers. Likewise, Croker highlighted that they have also focused their operations on helping to lead the industry out of this situation and was confident in the recovery when he stated: "I feel very confident of where we are going in the future."

For his part, Bill Miller revealed that he is inspired by the resilience of the industry, which is made up of strong people capable of succeeding in these moments.

On this, Trevor Croker agreed and commented that he was "impressed by the industry as a whole", because in the face of an unprecedented situation for which no one was prepared, it has come together to offer solutions, establish high standards in health and safety, in addition to collaborating actively in the communities where they operate.

Later, Trevor Croker, took up the subject of Aristocrat's priorities and gave more details on each of these aspects.

As for employees, he emphasized that, for the last seven months, they have focused on putting them first. For this reason, they have helped in the transition from office work to online work, even implementing applications and solutions for wellness and mental health.

Regarding their clients, they have supported them in closing and of course in reopening, so they have been there to support them in various initiatives and processes.

When it comes to operations, Croker mentioned that Aristrocrat, like other organizations, have had to make some tough decisions. However, due to the position of the company, they have not reduced the design and development team that is in charge of the great games, because they believe that "games and cabinets and investment will actually go on the success stories of the industry".

Finally, as manufacturers it is essential to refer to the supply chain. In this regard, the CEO commented that the supply chain team responded very quickly, making it possible to provide the product to their customers.

On the other hand, the executive spoke about changes observed in the US marketplace, among which the greater strength of regional markets stands out over those that involve transfers in mass transportation.

In this way, Croker expressed that as confidence in mass transportation is rebuilt and the reopening of sports and other activities continues, consumer confidence will grow and they will feel more comfortable traveling.

Referring to Las Vegas and its undisputed position as the world epicenter of gaming, Croker recalled how after the global financial crisis, operator investments proliferated, which has contributed to making it a wonderful destination.

On this occasion, again the operators stand out for their commitment and responsibility, and have had a great response capacity to guarantee safety.

“It's going to take a little bit of time, as we spoke earlier, about people getting confidence to jump on plans. But that is building every day, in my opinion, and it will continue to build over time. And I think that the responsibility that the operators are showing and the confidence they're building with the players is important part ”.

Likewise, Trevor Croker reiterated the importance of “keep thinking about innovation and thinking about what are those solutions that our customers want, what's the innovation that they're seeking to help them through this period of time”.

Finally, he highlighted the support of the AGA in its permanent work to help the industry recover, and stressed that it has been very important to have ensured that the voice of the sector is heard in Congress, as this has allowed the recognition of the contribution to the economy and local communities where they provide infrastructure support and are a source of employment and investment.

"That gives us a lot of confidence because as a company, we want to continue to invest, whether it's around putting new studios and new cities, whether it's building manufacturing plants in new areas."
