Betsson Group and Casino de Victoria jointly announced that they recently obtained one of the seven licenses granted by the government of the Province of Buenos Aires in Argentina for the development of online gaming operations.
As reported by the Betsson Group, this new achievement continues the chain of expansion of the group that in recent months entered the markets of Kenya, Brazil, Croatia and Colombia.
As we have reported on other occasions, online gaming is relatively new for Argentina, but the land-based gaming sector has been defined by Betsson as a very mature market.
In this regard, about 18 months ago the Betsson Group joined forces with Casino de Victoria, one of the leading operators in the Argentine market, founded in 2005 and part of the Mautone Group.
On this latest expansion, the CEO of Betsson Group, Jesper Svensson, commented that this alliance is key to its expansion in Latin America due to the solid experience in the industry that the Victoria Casino has demonstrated.
In addition, the manager confirmed that the Betsson Group will provide technological, operational and marketing support, as well as its knowledge of online games. And, he added that his "goal is to start with our proprietary sportsbook, casino, and live casino offerings."
On the other hand, the Betsson Group has been pleased by the strong focus on responsible gambling in the regulation by the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) and confirms that it will adhere to and fully support these standards.
In reference to corporate social responsibility, they highlight that "One Betsson" is Betsson's vehicle to support multiple initiatives related to COVID-19 in Malta, Sweden, Estonia, Georgia and Hungary.
Likewise, “Sembrando Victorias” (Sewing Victories) was born from an initiative by Casino de Victoria and is the first foundation linked to the gaming industry in Argentina, which since 2016 has been supporting employability and social inclusion initiatives to improve the standard of living and quality of life of hundreds of people every year.
