The Gauselmann Group has reacted to the launch of the ICE Location Analysis, a survey requested by Clarion Gaming, organizer of the renowned ICE London fair. In this regard, Gauselmann explains that while ExCeL is "a magnificent place", its location in the Docklands is "the exact opposite".
The published results point to a general preference for London as the destination of the fair. However, the Gauselmann Group has claimed through a press release that the survey was addressed only to attendees, not to exhibitors. "We feel that we have been left in the dark and while the events of this year are both disappointing because of the pandemic and everything that has been entailed, we have to look forward and that includes considering a reset of London as the host venue of ICE beyond 2022".
It should be noted that the company also refers to the difficulties caused by Brexit as an issue and the travel and transport costs for exhibitors outside the UK.
In summary, Gauselmann has expressed: “The issue refuses to go away and it is clear that those exhibitors who are concerned about the future of the global gaming industry's biggest and arguably best B2B exhibition must come together, express those concerns openly and engage in a dialogue to find a solution".
