Entain has been recognized for its leadership in ESG with an award and its inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022, making it the only group in the sector that will be part of this important publication.
Entain has explained that the yearbook includes the companies with the best performance within the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), which is considered the gold standard for corporate sustainability.
Notably, using SAM's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), the DJSI assess over 7,500 leading sustainability-driven companies based on analysis of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors as well as S&P DJSI's robust index methodology. Through a consistent, rules-based methodology, the analysis looks at an average of 600 data points per company into one overall score to determine index inclusion.
Commenting on the inclusion, Robert Hoskin, Entain's Chief Governance Officer, said that it is a great recognition of the actions developed in “sustainability, diversity and responsibility”.
According to Entain in a press release, to be included in the Yearbook, companies must score within the top 15% of their industry and must achieve an S&P Global ESG Score within 30% of their industry's top-performing company.
In addition to the companies’ sustainability scores derived from the CSA, a qualitative screen based on SAM’s Media and Stakeholder Analysis (MSA) is applied to determine eligibility for inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook.
