Flutter Entertainment has reached an agreement with the firm Deloitte to be the new auditor for its sports betting brands Paddy Power and Betfair. In this way, and complying with EU regulations, Flutter replaces KPMG with Deloitte after 20 years of business relationship.
It is important to mention that Deloitte was the firm in charge of auditing and accounting advisory tasks for Codere Online during its merger with DD3 Acquisition Corp.
Regarding this change in auditing services, Flutter has confirmed that it is not due to any commercial or fiscal purpose, but due to EU requirements.
Under new EU rules, listed companies must change auditors after 10 years, so the new auditor will take over from 2024.
Flutter is one of the most lucrative audit assignments, in fact, KPMG got €6.5 million to close the company's accounts in 2021.
