Crown Resorts have appointed Ian Silk as the new Chairman of Crown Melbourne and confirmed that he would also join the parent company's board as a non-executive director.
Ian Silk has a distinguished track record including being head of AustralianSuper, Australia's largest retirement savings exchange. Now, he takes on the challenge of overseeing the turnaround of Crown Resorts' flagship casino.
Crown Resorts has highlighted in a statement the virtues of Ian Silk and underlines: "he is widely recognized as one of Australia's most experienced business leaders, with deep expertise in governance, investment and risk management".
Other important changes in the executive organization of Crown Resorts are:
- Helen Silver, a former secretary of the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet and senior executive with Allianz Australia and NAB Bank, and Henriette Rothschild, a former managing director of global consulting firm Hay Group, have been appointed as Crown Melbourne non-executive directors.
- John Borghetti, a director of Alinta Energy and Brisbane Airport Corporation and former Virgin Australia chief executive, will take over as chairman at Crown Sydney. Meanwhile, former HBF Health chief executive John Van Der Wielen was appointed as chairman of Burswood Limited overseeing Crown Perth.
