Entain, the global sports betting and gaming group formerly known as GVC Holdings, made a purchase offer to Swedish company Enlabs for $ 343 million. In this regard, the company's board of directors has endorsed the purchase and the transaction is expected to be completed by the close of the first quarter of 2021.
As Entain explained, Enlabs is a leading and established gaming company in the Baltic countries where it operates brands such as Optibet and NinjaCasino in the sports, casino and internet gaming market.
Furthermore, based on total revenue, the company is the market leader in Latvia, the second largest in Estonia and one of the five largest operators in Lithuania. Enlabs is based in Riga and has offices in Tallinn, Vilnius, Minsk, Malta, Marbella and Stockholm.
Shay Segev, CEO of Entain plc commented that "The acquisition of Enlabs is perfectly aligned with our strategy of expanding across new regulated international markets". On the other hand, Niklas Braathen, Chairman of the Board of Enlabs highlighted that the company, its customers and employees will be in good hands and explained: “Enlabs has achieved an enormous amount as an independent business, but we recognize the established trend of industry consolidation and the growing importance of scale ".
