Grant Johnson, CEO of the company, was pleased with the approval, commenting: “We are thrilled to be playing such an important role in this fast-growing market with the launch of our first esports wagering offering in the United States.” He also indicated that esports betting is expected to reach $205 billion by 2027.

Esports Entertainment Group will launch its VIE.gg esports betting platform in New Jersey on February 1st in the afternoon. The launch of VIE.gg will begin with a five-day "soft play" period, which ensures that limitations are applied to the online gambling experience to "ensure proper regulatory operations".
