The Gala was not only an occasion to recognise the commitment to responsible gaming and corporate social responsibility, but also to make a difference in the lives of those most in need, with the Kirira Foundation as the recipient of the donation.

One of the highlights of this year's event was the award given to INTERPOL, which was recognised as the Most Outstanding Institution in Responsible Gambling. INTERPOL's merits were assessed by a prestigious and independent jury, made up of authorities, regulators, journalists and members of state security forces such as the National Police, the Navarre Regional Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra.

INTERPOL's recognition was based on its commendable work in the fight against corruption in sport and illegal betting. Through various activities, publications, partnerships, tools, operations, training and awareness-raising campaigns, INTERPOL has been a key player in promoting responsible gambling internationally.

The INTERPOL Match-Fixing Task Force (IMFTF) has been particularly prominent, being a key operational focus in INTERPOL's response to illegal betting, corruption in sport and related financial crimes. This Task Force brings together law enforcement agencies from around the world to tackle these crimes, working closely with major international sports federations and sport’s governing bodies, such as FIFA, UEFA and the IOC.

INTERPOL's work has had a significant impact, as demonstrated by successes in operations such as SOGA IX and the training project with the IOC. In addition, public awareness campaigns have reached millions of people around the world, helping to raise awareness of the risks of illegal gambling and corruption in sport.

Receiving the award on behalf of the global police organization were Mr Isaac OGINNI, Director of INTERPOL’s Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre, Mr Claudio MARINELLI, Operational Coordinator, as well as officials from the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Madrid, led by Chief Maria del Carmen Muñoz Gonzalez.

INTERPOL's distinction at the 6th Infoplay Awards is a testament to its tireless commitment to the integrity of sport and the promotion of safe and responsible gambling globally.
