BRAZIL: Interministerial Ordinance Defines the Competence of the Ministries of Finance and Sports in Sports Betting Management

The Official Gazette of the Union published Interministerial Ordinance MF/MESP/AGU No. 28/2024, which outlines the responsibilities and procedures of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Sports, and the Attorney General’s Office in enforcing the sports betting law.

The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance is responsible for authorizing the commercial exploitation of sports betting, following approval from the Ministry of Sports.
