Among other measures, a minimum distance of 850 meters between gambling rooms and educational centers has been established and a separation of 500 meters between gambling facilities. The slots in bars & restaurants will be activated by a remote control by the owner and sound effects will be canceled if no people are playing.
Among the novelties of this law is the prohibition for agents who carry out the gambling activity to grant credits, bonuses or financial assistance to gamblers.
The law also introduces the restriction of advertising, promotion, sponsorship and commercial information on gambling activities, within the scope of the Generalitat's gambling jurdisdiction.
Likewise, the advertising and promotion of the game outside the gaming premises, static advertising, on the public highway or transport, as well as the broadcasting of advertising on this activity in the public media of the Valencian Community are prohibited.
Also within the gaming premises, it will be compulsory to provide information sheets accessible to players on the resources available for the treatment and rehabilitation of pathological gambling.
In addition, aids, subsidies or tax incentives will be promoted for sports entities, associations and media that carry out campaigns to prevent and fight against pathological gambling.
850 meters and 500 meters
Among the novelties of the law, it is also worth mentioning the regulation of a distance of 850 meters, in the shortest pedestrian path per road in the public domain, for the location of gambling halls and specific betting shops, with respect to accredited educational centres that provide compulsory secondary education, high school, basic vocational training and professional artistic education. ???
The law also establishes minimum distances of 500 meters between bingo establishments, gambling halls and betting shops, with the aim of reducing the spatial concentration of gambling establishments in urban enclaves, avoiding the creation of areas such as 'local Las Vegas'.
??Remote control activation on type B slots
A new feature is the incorporation of a remote control activation and deactivation system for each slot machine, under the responsibility of the personnel in charge of the gambling room, bar or restaurant.
In addition, type B machines must remain free from the emission of sound, visual or light for as long as they are not in use. It is also forbidden to install gaming machines on terraces, streets or outdoor areas of catering and similar establishments, as well as in bars and cafeterias located within educational, health, social or youth centres and on sports grounds.
The authorisations granted are maintained.
Furthermore, in order to guarantee legal certainty in the sector, all the authorisations granted prior to the entry into force of this law remain valid and in force for the entire period for which they were granted.
It also prohibits the fitting out of smoking areas or clubs for smokers in gambling establishments. Likewise, the advertising of products or financial entities inside gaming establishments is prohibited.
In the case of sports betting, the definition of the taxable base is generalised in view of the net income from gambling; while in the case of games of chance and gaming machines, it is established that the tax is payable per calendar quarter.
On the other hand, the tax rates have also been adapted in the case of raffles, raffles, random combinations, bets, gambling casinos and in the case of the operation of gaming slot machines and chance.
Another novelty is the generalization of the presentation of the self-assessment by telematic means and the extension of the period for declaration and payment of the tax, generally one month. ??

Deadlines to adapt to regulations
A period of six months from the entry into force of this law has been granted for gambling halls and specific betting sports rooms to carry out the necessary adaptation work in order to comply with the requirements established by the law regarding the control of admission to gambling premises.
Likewise, a period of 12 months is granted, as from the entry into force of this Law, so that type B gambling machines and auxiliary betting machines located in hotels and similar establishments, as well as those betting machines located in sports venues, carry out the necessary adaptations in order to comply with the requirement of having the activation-deactivation system.
Likewise, a maximum period of 5 years is established, from the entry into force of this Law, for the suspension of new authorisations for gaming establishments and new authorisations for the operation of type B gambling machines or gaming machines (slots) with prizes, intended to be installed in catering or similar premises.
Nevertheless, taking into account that the renewal of gaming establishment permits must be done in accordance with the currently regulation in force, said suspension will not be applicable in those cases in which a change of location of the gaming establishment is necessary to comply with the new distance requirement.
Finally, a period of 12 months is established, from the entry into force of this Law, for the elaboration of the Integral Valencian Strategy for the Prevention and Treatment of Gambling.
