Amidst the ongoing call for applications to its startup acceleration program, Ceuta Open Future is hosting its second Mentors Meeting today and tomorrow. The event has brought together the entire team of mentors, startups from the initiative, and key figures in the initiative, including Kissy Chandiramani, Councilor for Finance, Economic Transition, and Digital Transformation; Joaquín Segovia Alonso, Southern Regional Director of Telefónica; José Diestro, Director of Procesa; and José Ramón Olmedo, Procesa Coordinator, among others.
This session has served to present the progress of the initiative in recent years after six calls for their acceleration program and to establish new objectives to enhance mentor support for entrepreneurs based in Ceuta participating in the acceleration process.
The mentor team at Ceuta Open Future consists of professionals specializing in various areas (marketing, software, communication, finance, legal, etc.) who work hand in hand with startups with the aim of fostering their growth.
Following the opening of the first Mentors Meeting session by Kissy Chandiramani and Joaquín Segovia, representatives of the Autonomous City and Telefónica respectively, the agenda includes roundtable discussions and presentations held internally, covering topics from building entrepreneurship ecosystems to exploring business opportunities in Artificial Intelligence.
The councilor has highlighted the recognition of Ceuta as one of the places where business acceleration is most notable, "and a point of reference in Spain for innovation and technology." "We can be proud, because we started working in the midst of a pandemic and have managed to stand out thanks to all the professionals working at Ceuta Open Future."
The Council has re-tendered this service for 2.4 million euros, aiming to extend the work for another four years, given the positive expectations that have emerged.
Chandiramani also took the opportunity to announce that they are working, within the Council, with an investors' club to participate in a technological company so that entrepreneurs, in addition to benefiting from Procesa grants to launch their businesses, can explore other alternatives.
Since 2020, this center has received 66 applications from emerging companies for acceleration, and 31 of them have been attended to, with 19 having completed the program, and 6 currently in the acceleration process.
