The 2025 editions of ICE and iGB Affiliate generated an economic impact of €191 million for Barcelona and Catalonia, as well as supporting an estimated 3,100 part-time jobs, according to a study conducted by Equimore.
The two world-leading B2B events, which attracted attendees from 186 countries and generated 121,000 overnight stays, benefitted a wide range of local businesses including hotels, restaurants, transport services, venues, and event production companies. The average daily spend of non-local attendees was calculated at €449.
An input-output model was applied to estimate the direct, indirect, and induced impacts of hosting the events:
Direct impacts included expenditures related to organizing, exhibiting, and attending within the Barcelona-Catalonia economy.
Indirect impacts referred to knock-on effects on suppliers and service providers.
Induced impacts reflected the consumption generated by wages earned by those working directly or indirectly on the events.
