In Chile, the Superintendency of Gaming Casinos (SCJ, for its acronym in Spanish) reported on the rule that allows the progressive reopening of casinos located in the communes that are in Steps 3, 4 or 5 of the plan called “ Step by Step, We Take Care ”. Thus, El Casino Hotel Antay, which is part of Luckia Gaming Group, has confirmed that it will begin operations on November 19 in a dome, as it is located in a commune that follows in step 3.
The Chilean Superintendency of Gambling Casinos (SCJ) recently informed the operating companies and casino concessionaires about the approval of the "Protocol for the Management and Prevention of COVID-19 in casinos and gaming and entertainment establishments", which allows the reopening of gaming establishments within the framework of the "Step by Step, We Take Care" plan.
It should be noted that, according to the SCJ, the document prepared and presented to the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Health had the participation of municipal gaming casino operating companies and concessionaires, the Chilean Association of Gambling Casinos (ACCJ) and the unions of workers in the sector.
The ministries of Health and the Economy generated the aforementioned protocol, which defines the different opening steps that casinos can choose, as well as the health security measures that must be implemented.
The protocol allows the gradual opening of casinos that are located in the communes in Steps 3, 4 or 5. In all cases, they must inform the Superintendency at least five business days before the start of operations and send a report with the security measures to implement.
According to a press release from the SCJ, the mandatory reopening instruction for gaming casinos is still in force in those communes that enter Step 5. The maximum term to restart operations, from the entry into force of this stage, it will be ten business days.
In the case of establishments located in communes that are in Steps 3 and 4, the reopening will be voluntary.
In addition, the operators must maintain operation for at least three days a week, as long as the respective commune remains in Steps 3, 4 or 5.
On the other hand, the SCJ stressed that at the entrances and exits of the casinos there will be a system of control and registration of clients for. to be able to contact them in case of any contagion.
