PokerStars has reported that the Monte-Carlo Casino's European Poker Tour (EPT) will take place between April 28 and May 7 this year.
We must remember that the tournament, which did not take place in 2020 or 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, regularly sees winners claim cash prizes of over €1 million, in fact in both 2008 and 2009, the winner took home more than 2 million euros.
The Monte-Carlo Casino, officially called the Casino de Monte-Carlo, has hosted the EPT Grand Final 11 times. To qualify, participants must first go through the EPT Prague event, which takes place between May 5 and 16.
Those participating in the tournament can enter a number of events, with buy-ins ranging from €5,300 to €100,000.
Severin Rasset, CEO and Commercial Officer of PokerStars, was excited to return to live events, emphasizing that everyone's safety is paramount. He also commented: “EPT Monte Carlo is a favorite for many, and we're pleased we can now share details for the event along with the exciting announcement that regional tours are back”.
After a five-year hiatus, regional poker tournaments will return to the UK, Spain, the Czech Republic, Monaco and France.
PokerStars has confirmed that the season will incorporate seven events, from March to November 2022.
