SPAIN || First Quarterly Report 2021 of Online Gaming: Bingo falls, live Roulette prevails and the annual average of new accounts increases 43.51%

 
 The GGR (gross from gaming collections) for the quarter was € 240.08 million, which represents an increase of 3.8% compared to the previous quarter and 10.19% compared to the same quarter in 2020.

Player deposits and withdrawals increased their variation rates compared to the previous quarter by 6.08% and 6.41% respectively.

Marketing spending experienced a decrease of -1.74% compared to the previous quarter and new accounts increased 7.92% compared to the previous quarter. The variations considering the same quarter of the previous year are of increase in all concepts.

In the GGR analysis by gaming segments, it is observed that:

The € 240.08 million of GGR is distributed in € 110.3 million in Betting (45.94%); € 3.6 million in Bingo (1.50%); € 99.5 million in Casino (41.44%), € 1.73 million in Contests (0.72%) and € 24.95 million in Poker (10.39%).

The betting segment has a growth rate compared to the previous quarter of 6.52% and a decrease of -0.25% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Conventional counterpart sports bets increased 27.77% and live decreased -7.69% compared to the previous quarter. In this quarter, other counterpart bets increased by 8.3%.

Bingo has experienced a decrease of -7.66% compared to the previous quarter and -2.42% compared to the same quarter of 2020.

In the casino segment, there has been a growth of 1.71% compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 and a positive annual variation rate of 28.31%. This annual growth occurs in slot machines with 26.76% and in live roulette with 54.43% and their quarterly variations are 3.26% and 1.22% respectively. In this quarter, conventional roulette decreased its rate compared to the previous quarter by -4.42% and -28.49% in the annual rate.

In this quarter, tenders experienced an increase of 61.96% and a decrease of -7.59% in the annual variation rate. This segment presents an irregular behavior with annual variation rates in the first quarter of -80.20% in 2018; 368.97% in 2019; 99.50% in 2020.

Poker shows a slight increase of 0.04% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the previous quarter and 3.11% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Both cash poker and tournament poker increased, registering a quarterly variation rate of 0.08% and 0.02% respectively. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, cash poker decreased by -17.94% and tournament poker increased by 13.67%.

Marketing spending in the quarter was € 148.37 million, broken down into € 12.4 million affiliation expenses; € 8.53 million sponsorship; promotions 56.00; and advertising € 71.45 million. Compared to the previous quarter, this expense decreased by -1.74% due to the decrease in all items except affiliation expenses, which increased by 1.16%. Compared to the previous year, the rates are positive in all types of marketing. In this quarter, promotions are broken down into bonuses released in € 20.34 million prizes and € 35.66 million not included in prizes.

The monthly average of active gaming accounts is 1,118,603, which implies a growth of 6.42% compared to the previous quarter and an annual variation of 22.73%. The monthly average of new accounts is 422,533 users, with a quarterly and annual increase of 7.92% and 43.51% respectively.
